Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tinashe Chukwuma (ranked 680 p4p, 1227 weight class) and Abdul Keji (ranked 72 p4p, 132 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tinashe Chukwuma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abdul Keji!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chukwuma throws a lazy right hand but Keji sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Keji tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chukwuma was well out of range. Poor timing from Keji.
Chukwuma staying out of range there.
Keji thows a left - swing and a miss!
Chukwuma throws a looping overhand right but Keji ducks down to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Keji. Chukwuma does a little dance to reset his feet.
Keji on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Keji doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice shot lands for Chukwuma.
Chukwuma tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Keji was well out of range. Poor timing from Chukwuma.
Chukwuma cracks Keji with a good jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice defenses there by Keji.
A nice side step and Keji releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Chukwuma steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Keji.
Chukwuma fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Chukwuma has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Tank Factory in the buildup to the fight.
Chukwuma throws a sloppy body shot
letting Keji counter with a right hand.
Keji tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chukwuma was well out of range. Poor timing from Keji.
Chukwuma throws a lazy head kick
and Keji counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Chukwuma misses with a right hand
enabling Keji to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Tinashe Chukwuma has been cut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Still in the clinch, Chukwuma scores with a nice short uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Keji is trying to push Chukwuma away but Chukwuma has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Keji breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Keji drops his hands momentarily and Chukwuma takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chukwuma with a nice calf kick.
Tinashe Chukwuma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Keji throws a body shot but no joy.
Chukwuma seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Chukwuma connects with a jab.
Chukwuma misses with an uppercut
and Chukwuma takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Keji takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Keji misses with a looping right.
A punch lands to the side of Chukwuma 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Chukwuma drops Keji with a big left hand and mounts him. Keji is in big trouble!

Keji is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chukwuma trying to control but Keji is having none of it.
Keji is still in real trouble! Can Chukwuma finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Keji blocking the ground and pound.
Keji wants to hold on but Chukwuma pushes him away.
Keji seems to have recovered his senses.
Keji takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Keji is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Chukwuma cracks Keji with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tinashe Chukwuma!
An out of breath Tinashe Chukwuma thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
