These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aebersold shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Smith throws a big counter combination but Aebersold scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Aebersold tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A little feinted left hand from Smith on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Smith stuffs the takedown attempt from Aebersold. Aebersold gets slowly back to his feet.
