PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Small Richard (ranked 1050 p4p, 2607 weight class) and Brandon Rose (ranked 81 p4p, 183 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose throws a right hand that Richard ducks under and follows up with a left that Richard also avoids with ease.
Richard drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rose sprawls and moves away.

Richard is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rose is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rose has escaped and now he's on top!

Richard has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rose is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Richard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Richard drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Richard jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rose is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Richard defends well.
Richard stands up over Rose, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Richard is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Rose has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Richard is looking to defend but Rose has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Richard! Rose pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Richard taps out and this one is all over!

Brandon Rose gave a mention to Northern Zombie in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
