Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jiro tries to clinch but Nunes moves out of range.
Nunes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
As Nunes looks to move away, Jiro throws a big counter combo but Nunes just gets out of the way.
Jiro shoots in for a takedown but Nunes shows good takedown defense.
Nunes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Nunes bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Jiro fails to land the takedown.
A swing and a miss from Nunes.
Jiro swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jiro swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Nunes counters with a stiff right hand.
Nunes tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jiro walks into a left hand.
Nunes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Jiro seems a little lost for a moment, as Nunes dominates the positioning.
Jiro tries to escape but Nunes is in control.
Jiro trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Nunes controls the position.
Jiro takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

A lull in the action here as Nunes stalls from top position.
Nunes's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Nunes is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Let's hope that Nunes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Nunes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nunes connects with a right hand. Jiro shakes it off.
Jiro misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Nunes has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jiro tries to close the distance and clinch but Nunes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nunes has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A lazy left from Nunes finds it's target.
Nunes connects with a crisp jab.
Jiro takes one on the button.
Nunes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jiro's hands.
Nunes might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nunes jabs Jiro right on the nose. Jiro blinks but takes it well.
Jiro looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jiro fails with the takedown
and Jiro takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hirota Jiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nunes is pawing at Jiro, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Jiro's nose. Jiro is badly hurt! Nunes pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Jiro tries desperately to hold on but Nunes is relentless in his assault! As Jiro receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Nunes away and this one is in the books!
