Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yuuji Hoshino (ranked 497 p4p, 395 weight class) and Prince McVicker (ranked 35 p4p, 28 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Yuuji Hoshino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Prince McVicker!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoshino attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
McVicker was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Hoshino fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
McVicker scores with a decent looking hook.
Hoshino tries to land a leg kick but McVicker saw it coming and moves away.
Hoshino checks a low kick from McVicker.
McVicker thuds his shin into the meat of Hoshino's side.
A head kick by Hoshino misses
and McVicker counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hoshino throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoshino fails in his attempt to clinch.
McVicker works Hoshino's body with a nice hook.
Hoshino throws a sloppy head kick and McVicker moves out of range easily.
A little jabbing left from McVicker on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Hoshino uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McVicker.
McVicker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hoshino connects with an inside leg kick.
McVicker moves out of range of the body kick from Hoshino.
McVicker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hoshino swings for the body but McVicker moves out of range.
McVicker is looking for the big counter here.

Hoshino misses the shot to the body.
A decent looking cross lands there for McVicker.
McVicker dives in and grabs Hoshino's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hoshino pushes down on McVicker's head and hops out.

McVicker stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hoshino.

Hoshino throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McVicker feints the counter takedown.

Hoshino moves away from the strike by McVicker.
Hoshino throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McVicker tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Hoshino throws a sloppy head kick and McVicker moves out of range easily.
McVicker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hoshino throws out the jab.
McVicker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hoshino but Hoshino pushes him off and we're back to square one.
McVicker looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hoshino is looking to clinch.

Hoshino misses with a lunging right hand
enabling McVicker to counter with a crisp jab.
Hoshino takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Yuuji Hoshino is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hoshino ducks under a wild hook from McVicker.
McVicker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hoshino was well out of range. Poor timing from McVicker.
McVicker tries a low kick but Hoshino avoids it.
Hoshino moves in looking to clinch but McVicker pushes him off.

McVicker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hoshino did well to prevent McVicker getting side control.
McVicker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hoshino's head.
McVicker is keen to just control but Hoshino is a slippery customer.
McVicker lands strikes from half guard.

Hoshino is not content to let McVicker control the position.
McVicker might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hoshino haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McVicker is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hoshino tries to kick McVicker off but McVicker keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
McVicker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
McVicker passes to full mount!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hoshino avoids the body shot from McVicker.
Hoshino tries to counter by moving into the clinch but McVicker manages to circle out of the way.
Hoshino blocks a low kick nicely.
Hoshino checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Hoshino tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McVicker paws at him with a jab and circles away.

McVicker is trying to break the clinch but Hoshino is controlling him.

Hoshino creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through McVicker's defenses.
Hoshino pushes McVicker back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

McVicker can't get the takedown.
Yuuji Hoshino has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Prince McVicker.

I was talking to Hoshino's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Hoshino tries to work over McVicker's front leg with a kick but McVicker checks it.
McVicker lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Hoshino throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McVicker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hoshino's waist but Hoshino gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McVicker off to one side.

I would just about give that final round to Prince McVicker.
I think McVicker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
