The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Elijah Anderson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and Anderson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Anderson.
Nicky Manu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Manu is fighting off a takedown attempt but Anderson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Manu to the mat. Manu regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Anderson chips away with some ground and pound.
Manu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Manu can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Anderson controls the pace.
Anderson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Anderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A lull in the action here as Anderson stalls from top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Anderson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
