The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amida steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mondragon.
Minoari Amida has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
A head kick misses from Amida.
Mondragon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Mondragon is trying to trip Amida. He has hold of a leg but Amida is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mondragon persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mondragon passes Amida's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mondragon is taking a breather. Amida says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Amida wants to improve his position but Mondragon is controlling well.
Mondragon perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Mondragon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Mondragon passes to side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Amida looks to move to half guard but instead Mondragon has passed into mount! Damn!

Mondragon wants to finish this one by submission but Amida is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Mondragon.
