The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson works Wilkinson's body with a nice hook.
Thompson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Wilkinson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Thompson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Wilkinson is breathing heavily.
Wilkinson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Thompson cracks a nice hook into Wilkinson's ribs.
Thompson dips to his left and cracks Wilkinson with an uppercut!
Thompson lands a right hook to the body.
Wilkinson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Thompson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Wilkinson rather than just go for the knockout.

Thompson lands a left and a right that send Wilkinson crashing to the mat, dazed. Thompson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Wilkinson is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thompson closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Wilkinson out cold! Wilkinson corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
