Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robert Scott (ranked 3288 p4p, 3281 weight class) and John Stak (ranked 396 p4p, 395 weight class). Robert Scott could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Stak's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Scott!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Stak!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stak tries to bum rush Scott with a series of wild strikes but Scott uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Stak lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Stak.

It looks like Robert Scott has been cut.
A head kick misses from Stak.

Scott fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stak sprawls well initially but Scott persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Scott throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Scott is controlling the pace.
Scott is trying to control. Stak wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Scott thows a huge punch but Stak dodges it nicely.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Nice strikes from Scott there.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scott seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stak does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Scott seems to be looking for submissions.
Scott really is a fat lump.
Scott is thwarting Stak's attempts to control the position.
Stak pushes Scott off looking to stand but Scott dives back in and keeps control.

Scott is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stak sees it coming and defends easily.
Stak is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Stak is looking to escape.
Stak is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Scott tries to pass to full mount but Stak defends it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
John Stak is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Scott tries to clinch up.
John Stak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scott shoots in looking for a takedown. Stak tries to sprawl out of it but Scott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Stak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Scott shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stak as he jumps to the side.
Scott tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stak defends well and Scott ends up having to push Stak into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Scott. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Scott tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stak just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Scott tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Scott breaks the clinch.
Stak misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stak lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Stak misses with a low kick.
Stak shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Scott eats them both and turns towards Stak to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Stak, as that shot connected.
Scott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stak scores with a nice right hand.
Stak misses with an attempted mid kick.

Oooooh!!! Stak has knocked Scott down with a huge combo! Stak steps away and waves a wobbly Scott back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Scott is rocked!
Scott is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stak batters Scott with a massive right followed by a huge left! Scott is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Stak lands a final crushing right hand to drop Scott to the mat with a gruesome thud! Stak is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). John Stak!
