The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooty scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Hooty throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mercado.

Hooty really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hooty tries to break the clinch but Mercado is controlling the position.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mercado creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mercado creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Hooty's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Hooty drops to his knees and Mercado pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
