PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corin David (ranked 1894 p4p, 2324 weight class) and Kree P Krawlee (ranked 89 p4p, 112 weight class). Krawlee has chosen Sail as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corin David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 26 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kree P Krawlee!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David misses with a hook. Krawlee ducked under it nicely.
Krawlee misses with an uppercut. David saw that one coming.
David avoids the body shot from Krawlee.
David changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

David closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Krawlee can't do much from the bottom here.
Krawlee is trying to get back to half guard.

David thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
David tries to score with some ground and pound. Krawlee controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Krawlee is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked David off and has taken his back!

Krawlee is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. David defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
David is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

David is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Krawlee gets his way!

Krawlee patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
David is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Gumburcules Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
David tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
David tries to hold on but Krawlee postures up.
Krawlee takes David's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, David is in trouble.
David is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Krawlee is trying to stick to David's back but David is turning into Krawlee. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Krawlee's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by David.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Krawlee is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Krawlee can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as David controls the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
David distracts Krawlee with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
David content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
David pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Krawlee is keeping the position for now.
David in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Krawlee manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. David manages to get himself to full guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Krawlee stands and throws David's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Krawlee thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Krawlee looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
David is looking for a sweep.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on David's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Krawlee is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, David has escaped the position, nice work there.

Krawlee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Krawlee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Krawlee has hold of David's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! David tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Krawlee cranks the arm and David screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from David, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kree P Krawlee!
