Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominick Bess!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John James!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bess lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like John James has been cut.
James takes one to the chin there.

James is rocked!
A combination from Bess does no damage.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from James! But no joy.
Bess swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by James.
James is still on wobbly legs! Can Bess finish him?
Bess scores with a hook.
Bess throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
James tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Bess lands a jab.
Bess looks to score with a jab to the body but James is just out of range.
James seems to have recovered his senses.

Bess sends James crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Bess is motioning to the referee to let James up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Bess wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Bess throws a left and a right that both miss

and James counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bess has his feet on James's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

And James tries to counter it with a takedown but Bess pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Bess swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Bess connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between James's hands.

Bess drops James with a beautiful combination! James stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Bess is looking for the KO!

James changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

enabling James to counter with a crisp jab.
Bess lands a nice looking body shot.
Bess scores with a shot to the body.
Bess throws a series of punches but James avoids them all with ease.

A little jabbing left from James on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Bess lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Bess definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Bess lands a left and a right that send James crashing to the mat, dazed. Bess thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

That has opened up John James's cut even more.
Dominick Bess seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bess rushes James with punches - James moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, James goes down! Bess follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dominick Bess!
Our winner, Dominick Bess, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
