The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howlett shoots in looking for a takedown but Meine manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Howlett's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Meine throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Howlett avoids the head kick by Meine.
Howlett feints the counter takedown.
Nice body kick from Meine.

Meine closes the distance and clinches.

Howlett jumps into guard, dragging Meine to the mat.
Meine postures up.

Howlett is trying to control the position but Meine postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Howlett is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Meine has gone for a leg lock! Howlett slips out almost immediately though and dives into Meine's guard.

Howlett drops back looking for a leg! Meine is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Meine manages to kick Howlett off! Howlett jumps back into Meine's guard.
Meine seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Howlett slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Howlett thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Howlett is posturing up here but Meine has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Howlett tries to roll out but it's too tight and Howlett has to tap! Slick submission there by Meine!
