A little feinted left hand from Tepes lV on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pizziconi.
Vlad Tepes lV has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Osmany Pizziconi.

Tepes lV tries to keep at a distance but Pizziconi has taken the fight into the clinch.

I was talking to Tepes lV's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Pizziconi wants to take the fight to the mat but Tepes lV manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Tepes lV pushes Pizziconi back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Tepes lV lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tepes lV throws the left hand but Pizziconi avoids the punch easily.
Some bone on bone action there as Pizziconi checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Tepes lV stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tepes lV wants it to stay on the feet.
Tepes lV scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Tepes lV feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Pizziconi sprawling to the canvas! Pizziconi rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Tepes lV finish him?!
Pizziconi is rocked!
Pizziconi is aggressively charging in as Tepes lV backs up avoiding any damage. Tepes lV tosses out a jab and Pizziconi runs right into it face first! Pizziconi is out cold! Tepes lV dropped down on all fours and is barking in Pizziconi's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vlad Tepes lV!
