Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lyman Hicks (ranked 290 p4p, 1040 weight class) and Small Richard (ranked 23 p4p, 85 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lyman Hicks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Small Richard!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Hicks.
Richard feints the counter takedown.
Hicks misses with a looping left.

A looping hook to the body misses from Hicks. Richard does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hicks throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Richard tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Hicks misses with the combination.
Richard changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

and Richard counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Richard.

Hicks will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Richard is looking to work some ground and pound but Hicks has wrist control.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hicks is on top in guard.

Richard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Richard has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hicks is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Richard.

and Richard decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hicks's guard.

Richard has gone for a leg lock! Hicks slips out almost immediately though and dives into Richard's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Lyman Hicks will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hicks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Richard manages to avoid it.

Richard swings around for an armbar but Hicks sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Richard's guard.

Hicks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Richard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hicks has managed to get both his arms back between Richard's legs - danger averted.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hicks, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
