Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jake Rodrigues (ranked 1036 p4p, 1022 weight class) and Keenwah Granes (ranked 79 p4p, 78 weight class). Granes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: 敢不敢. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keenwah Granes!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Granes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rodrigues scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Granes doesn't seem bothered though.
Granes misses with the combination.
Rodrigues jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Granes works over Rodrigues's head and body with a nice combination.
Rodrigues throws a right hand that Granes ducks under and follows up with a left that Granes also avoids with ease.
Granes on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rodrigues tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Granes is able to avoid easily.
Granes lands with a straight right. Rodrigues didn't see that one coming.
Rodrigues looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Granes fails with a takedown attempt.

and Granes counters with a head kick. That will keep Rodrigues thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Granes tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rodrigues defends well and Granes ends up having to push Rodrigues into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
As Granes backs away, Rodrigues returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

and Rodrigues counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rodrigues lands a nice shot that snaps Granes's head back.
Granes shoots in for a double leg but Rodrigues sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jake Rodrigues has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keenwah Granes.

Granes throws an overhand right that lands on Rodrigues's shoulder, as Rodrigues tries to avoid the shot.

Granes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Granes counters with an outside leg kick.
Granes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rodrigues sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rodrigues walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Granes checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
And Granes tries to counter it with a takedown but Rodrigues pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Granes is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Rodrigues lands a head shot.

It looks like Keenwah Granes has been cut.
A chopping leg kick lands by Granes.
Rodrigues loads up on a big right hand but Granes slips the punch.
Rodrigues chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rodrigues ducks under a wild hook from Granes.
Rodrigues needs to keep his hands up - Granes had a free shot at his head there.
Granes takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Granes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rodrigues looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Granes scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rodrigues to see if he's OK.
Rodrigues is not content to let Granes control the position.

Granes working the ground and pound but Rodrigues is defending the strikes.

Rodrigues knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Granes on the ground.
Granes works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Granes with the ground and pound but Rodrigues regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Granes throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Granes lands a leg kick that knocks Rodrigues off balance momentarily.
Granes throws a low kick but Rodrigues moves out of range easily.

Granes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rodrigues turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Granes takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Granes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rodrigues avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
An attempted straight right counter from Rodrigues misses the target.
Granes ducks right into an uppercut from Rodrigues.
Granes throws a leg kick which misses Rodrigues's front leg but catches the back leg as Rodrigues tries to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Granes looks to throw the jab but Rodrigues is out of range.
Rodrigues defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Granes.

Granes throws out a loose jab but Rodrigues uses good head movement to avoid it.

Granes throws out a loose jab but Rodrigues uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rodrigues lunges at Granes with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Granes's hand.

and Granes counters with a stiff right hand.
Rodrigues bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Granes's head.

Granes is rocked!
Rodrigues lands an uppercut, right on the button! Granes tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
