The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cid uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jahr.
Cid tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jahr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jahr misses with a combination

and Cid counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Cid wants to control but Jahr is keeping him busy.
Jahr trying to control from the bottom.
Jahr is doing well to control the position and prevent Cid from advancing to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jahr is staying active underneath Cid, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jahr makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jahr.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jahr is controlling Cid's posture.
Jahr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

and Cid counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jahr throws a head kick that misses.

Cid shoots in and gets a takedown into Jahr's guard.
Cid wants to control from the top but Jahr keeps moving.

Jahr looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Jahr wants to sweep but no luck.
Cid is fighting to break Jahr's control of his arms but Jahr is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Jahr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Cid wants to control from the top but Jahr keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cid trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Jahr manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Cid is trying to keep Jahr in close.
Jahr will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jahr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cid works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jahr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cid really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jahr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

so Cid counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jahr utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jahr looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cid is one step ahead there.
Cid trying to control but Jahr is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jahr is pulling down on Cid's head. It's preventing any offense from Cid, at least for the moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Cid has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jahr throws a body kick that misses

and Cid counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Cid wants to control from the top but Jahr keeps moving.
Cid looking to sit in guard and control but Jahr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jahr stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Cid has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Jahr manages to get his head free but now Cid has transitioned to an armbar! Jahr grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Cid! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
