The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Badmus. Béliveau does a little dance to reset his feet.
Béliveau swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Badmus slips under a jab from Béliveau.
Béliveau clobbers Badmus with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Badmus throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Badmus scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Béliveau doesn't seem bothered though.
Badmus throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Béliveau lands the left hand.
Badmus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Béliveau manages to avoid it.
Béliveau has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Badmus looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Béliveau throws the left hand but Badmus avoids the punch easily.
Badmus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Béliveau swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Badmus avoids a kick to the body.
Béliveau connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Badmus looks to throw the jab but Béliveau is out of range.

Badmus takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

and Béliveau counters with a nice right hand that sends Badmus toppling to the canvas! Badmus scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Béliveau finish him?!

Oh Badmus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Badmus is breathing heavily.
Béliveau fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Badmus out cold! Brutal finish!

A relieved looking Léopold Béliveau thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
