PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aditya Parab (ranked 3110 p4p, 4090 weight class) and Leland Robles (ranked 408 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aditya Parab!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leland Robles!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robles just misses with a punch to the body.
As Robles tries to get set, Parab tries to push him back and clinch up but Robles manages to avoid the attempt.
Robles gets cracked there but stands up to it.

A jab-cross combination lands for Parab and sends Robles crashing to the mat! Parab follows him down to the mat - Robles regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Robles is rocked!

It looks like Leland Robles has been cut.
Parab seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Robles is still in real trouble! Can Parab finish him?
Parab really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Parab passes to side control.
Parab happy to just control the position for now.
Parab definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Robles is looking to regain half guard here but Parab keeps moving and retains side control.
Robles seems to have recovered his senses.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Robles tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Parab wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Parab in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Robles is trying to control Parab's posture but Parab avoids it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Robles is not content to let Parab control the position.
Robles stuck in half guard on the bottom here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Robles stops Parab from passing to mount.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Parab trying to control the position but Robles is working away.
Robles manages to get back to half guard.
Still in half guard, Parab seems content to control.
Robles wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Robles is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Good exchange - Parab coming out on top.
Parab displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Robles.
Parab changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Parab drops his shoulder and cracks Robles with a huge uppercut! Robles goes down! Can Parab finish him?
Robles trying to keep a closed guard but Parab is proving a slippery customer.

Robles has his foot on Parab's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Parab works his way back into a safe position though.

Parab drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Parab jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Robles is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Parab preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Parab is trying to get back to full guard.
Robles is thwarting Parab's attempts to control the position.
Parab moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Aditya Parab dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Leland Robles's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Robles throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Parab is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Robles can do to turn this around?
Parab throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Robles on the side of the head.
Nice uppercut there from Parab.
Robles closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parab circles away.
Robles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Parab paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Robles shoots in for a takedown but Parab shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Parab circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Robles to the canvas! Robles doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Parab keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aditya Parab!
A less than humble Aditya Parab misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
