PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bengan Bengtsson (ranked 1959 p4p, 3202 weight class) and Rocco Damato (ranked 165 p4p, 253 weight class). Damato has chosen Thunderstruck as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Bengan Bengtsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 34 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rocco Damato!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bengtsson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Damato has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Damato tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bengtsson defends well and Damato ends up having to push Bengtsson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Damato has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Damato gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bengtsson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
