Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thorvald Nansen (ranked 846 p4p, 2199 weight class) and The Royal Savage (ranked 119 p4p, 275 weight class). Nansen comes to the cage accompanied by Benny Jamz - Torden. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Savage throws a looping overhand right but Nansen ducks down to avoid it.

We've been hearing reports that Nansen has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
The Royal Savage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Savage throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nansen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Savage back to the cage. Nansen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Nansen works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Nansen works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Nansen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nansen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Savage is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Nansen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Nansen is looking to take a break and control but Savage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nansen tries to advance to mount but Savage denies him.
Nansen throws a strike aimed at the side of Savage's head but Savage avoids it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nansen tries for a kimura but Savage is defending well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nansen misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Savage managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Nansen.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Savage can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nansen prevents Savage from escaping the position.

Savage parries the strikes from Nansen easily there. Nansen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Savage to escape.
Nansen has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Savage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nansen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Savage is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Savage looks to score with a jab to the body but Nansen is just out of range.
Savage stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Nansen scores with a crisp jab that stopped Savage in his tracks.
Savage lands with a nice body punch.
Nansen lands a slapping body shot.
Nansen throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Savage throws a series of strikes that have Nansen backpedaling.
Savage throws a body punch but Nansen moves out of range.
A low kick lands for Nansen.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Savage throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Savage fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nansen manages to avoid it.
Nansen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Savage swivels and escapes.
Nansen fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Savage on the side of the head.

Nansen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Savage is just riding it out for now. Nansen eventually gives up the hold.

Nansen is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Nansen is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Savage is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Savage flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Nansen anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Savage and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Nansen slips an arm under Savage chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Nansen has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Nansen is squeezing on Savage like an anaconda would it's prey. Savage fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Thorvald Nansen!
A relieved looking Thorvald Nansen thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
