Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapad Amiga (ranked 23939 p4p, 23774 weight class) and Rico Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Rico Salvacion enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 48 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 37 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rico Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Amiga closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Amiga lands in his opponent's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Salvacion holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amiga postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Amiga wants to pass the guard but Salvacion is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvacion is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Salvacion tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Amiga is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Salvacion holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Amiga shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Salvacion's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Salvacion seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Salvacion's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Salvacion closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Amiga is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Salvacion can do to turn this around?

Salvacion is thwarting Amiga's attempts to control the position.

Still in half guard, Salvacion seems content to control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Salvacion scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Salvacion takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Amiga is trying to maintain the position but Salvacion is very close to passing his half guard.
Salvacion is controlling the pace.

Salvacion trying to mount his opponent but Amiga defends it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Amiga controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Amiga wants to control but Salvacion is keeping busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Amiga shoots in but no luck this time.
And Salvacion responds with a good body kick, but Amiga manages to step out the way in time.
Salvacion shoots in and drives through. Amiga sprawls well.
Salvacion just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromAmiga.

Salvacion shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Amiga but Amiga pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rico Salvacion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Salvacion stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Salvacion wants it to stay on the feet.
And Salvacion responds with a good body kick, but Amiga manages to step out the way in time.
Amiga shoots in looking for a takedown but Salvacion manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Amiga's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Salvacion dives in for a single leg takedown but Amiga sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Salvacion gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Amiga to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Amiga loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Salvacion keeping moving, preventing Amiga from controlling successfully.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Amiga looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Amiga shoots and misses
and Salvacion counters with a nice kick to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tapad Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Salvacion shoots in looking for a takedown. Amiga tries to sprawl out of it but Salvacion keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Amiga manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Amiga dives in for a single leg takedown but Salvacion sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Salvacion tries to score a body lock takedown but Amiga shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Amiga ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Amiga no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Amiga is pulling down on Salvacion's head to control his posture.
Salvacion stays in close to Amiga's body and controls the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
Tapad Amiga showed his dominance in that final round.
