Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shahriyar Chai (ranked 666 p4p, 972 weight class) and Mertis Falandas (ranked 96 p4p, 135 weight class). Falandas has chosen Feed the Machine as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Shahriyar Chai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mertis Falandas!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chai misses with a hook
and Falandas counters with a nice leg kick.
Falandas uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chai.
A big right from Chai misses.
Chai fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Falandas manages to avoid it.
Chai is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Falandas.
Falandas throws a sloppy head kick and Chai moves out of range easily.

Chai throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Chai connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

A little jabbing left from Falandas on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Falandas throws a jab when Chai was well out of range.
Falandas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chai, pushing him back against the cage.
Chai lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Falandas backwards.

Chai can't find room to land a body shot as Falandas controls the action.

Chai is really struggling to control Falandas but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Falandas tries to get to full guard but Chai has control of the leg.

Falandas is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Shahriyar Chai will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Falandas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Chai.
Falandas wants to counter with a clinch but Chai pushes him away.
Chai swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Falandas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Chai ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Falandas moves away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Falandas! But no joy.
Chai misses with a wild body shot.
Nice uppercut there from Chai.
Chai swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A nice side step and Falandas releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Falandas looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Falandas takes one on the chin but seems OK.
It looks like Mertis Falandas has been cut.

Chai is nestled in close to Falandas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Falandas gets full guard.
Chai wants to control from the top but Falandas keeps moving.
Chai content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Falandas has locked up a guillotine! Falandas's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Chai is holding on here and Falandas must be using up a lot of energy. Chai has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Falandas gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

A very excited looking Mertis Falandas made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
