PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taz McKane (ranked 182 p4p, 318 weight class) and Hjallis Kalske (ranked 30 p4p, 48 weight class). McKane kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is SAVE ME. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Taz McKane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hjallis Kalske!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKane tries to clinch but Kalske moves out of range.
McKane with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
McKane darts in trying to clinch
and Kalske counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
McKane connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
McKane connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kalske's hands.
A head kick misses from McKane.
A solid leg kick lands there for McKane.
McKane thows a leg kick but Kalske checks it
and Kalske counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Kalske counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for McKane!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kalske is trying to ground and pound but McKane uses the momentary lack of control by Kalske to regain half guard.

McKane is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Convicted Fight Club, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kalske is fighting to break McKane's control of his arms but McKane is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McKane is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kalske accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
McKane seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kalske misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
McKane is not content to let Kalske control the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Taz McKane will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A decent looking cross lands there for McKane.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hjallis Kalske comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kalske has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
