PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Kolzak Drugov (ranked 4648 p4p, 4647 weight class) and Swift Taylor (ranked 544 p4p, 543 weight class). Taylor has chosen Bad Blood as his entrance music. Swift Taylor told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kolzak Drugov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Swift Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Taylor takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Taylor avoids the head kick by Drugov.
Drugov throws a one two combo.
Kolzak Drugov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taylor steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Drugov.
Taylor looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Taylor looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Taylor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Drugov tries a head kick but it misses.
Taylor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Taylor stuns Drugov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Drugov tries to clinch up.
Taylor misses with a double jab.
Drugov tries to land a body kick
and Taylor counters quickly with a head kick that drops Drugov to the mat! The referee starts the count at 3 - will Drugov be able to get back to his feet in time? 4,5,6, he's up. He looks OK so we'll continue the action!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A head kick misses from Taylor.
Taylor lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Drugov out cold! Drugov is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the ropes! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Swift Taylor!
After winning the bout, Swift Taylor thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
