The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Heyst ducks under a wild hook from Kahawaimauna.
Kahawaimauna swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice shot lands for Kahawaimauna.
Nice takedown defense from Kahawaimauna. No joy for De Heyst on that attempt.
Nice uppercut lands for Kahawaimauna. That snapped De Heyst's head back.
De Heyst looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kahawaimauna lands a lovely overhand right.
Kahawaimauna scores with a decent looking hook.
Kahawaimauna jabs at De Heyst's body.
Kahawaimauna throws a body shot but no joy.
De Heyst changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kahawaimauna tries to avoid it but De Heyst manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kahawaimauna to the ground. Kahawaimauna escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kekoa Kahawaimauna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matheys De Heyst.

De Heyst dives in for a single leg takedown but Kahawaimauna sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

De Heyst with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kahawaimauna to score with a decent uppercut.
Kahawaimauna stuffs the takedown.
Kahawaimauna throwing a counter right hand but De Heyst manages to avoid it.
De Heyst looks winded!
Kahawaimauna cracks De Heyst with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends De Heyst tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Kahawaimauna pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! De Heyst is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kekoa Kahawaimauna!
