PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Syco MicO (ranked 4577 p4p, 4213 weight class) and Raiko Tamm (ranked 0 p4p, 327 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Syco MicO!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raiko Tamm!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tamm keeps the fight on the outside.
Tamm tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tamm fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
MicO throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tamm's waist but Tamm gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing MicO off to one side.
MicO jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Tamm has his takedown stuffed
and MicO counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
MicO cracks Tamm with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Tamm gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
MicO has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tamm is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
MicO has Tamm pressed against the cage, preventing Tamm from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

MicO decides to pull guard.
MicO lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

MicO trying to control the position from guard on top but Tamm is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Tamm is trying to control the position from the bottom.
MicO trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Tamm not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
MicO throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

MicO throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tamm works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Tamm wants to sweep but no luck.
Tamm is looking to stand up but MicO isn't so interested in that idea.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
MicO lands a couple of decent looking shots.

MicO is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tamm is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tamm has escaped and now he's on top!

MicO has his foot on Tamm's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tamm works his way back into a safe position though.
MicO wants to sweep here but Tamm controlling him for the moment.
MicO is trying to control the position but Tamm postures up.
Tamm missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

MicO is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Tamm throws a big right hand that misses.
Tamm won't allow MicO to sweep him here.
MicO is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tamm is controlling him.
MicO has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

MicO is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tamm is aware though and is defending well.

Tamm stands and steps away. MicO gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Tamm misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
MicO feinted there with a counter leg kick.
MicO wants to clinch up but Tamm keeps it at a distance.
MicO throws a series of punches but Tamm moves out of range.
MicO shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tamm but Tamm pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Syco MicO. That's going to take a lot out of him.
MicO is breathing heavily.

Tamm has MicO up against the cage in a clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
MicO wants a takedown.
MicO gets underhooks to prevent Tamm's takedown attempt.
MicO jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tamm walks away with a smile on his face. MicO gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tamm looks for a takedown but MicO sprawls well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Tamm shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tamm showed some decent athleticism there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Syco MicO dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Nice sprawl there from MicO as Tamm shoots in.
MicO tries to clinch there but Tamm circles away.
MicO is looking to clinch but Tamm is avoiding it.
MicO misses with a body kick.
Tamm bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Despite the aggression on Tamm's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Tamm darts in and clinches MicO up against the cage.
Tamm wants to break free but MicO has control.

MicO's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Syco MicO is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
MicO misses with a hook

MicO tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Tamm manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
MicO content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Tamm is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

MicO is pushing down on Tamm's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tamm is fighting to maintain full guard but MicO has managed to sneak the leg through.

MicO looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

MicO is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tamm defends it well.
MicO throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Tamm is in trouble now - MicO has advanced to mount!

MicO connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Tamm tries to lock up and control but MicO gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

MicO looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
MicO wants to control the pace but Tamm is squirming around nicely.

Tamm sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
MicO prevents Tamm from improving his position.
Tamm is refusing to be controlled, as MicO sits in half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
MicO looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

MicO is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tamm has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tamm is trying to control but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
MicO is controlling the pace.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Tamm fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
No luck for Tamm with that takedown attempt.
MicO half committed to a counter leg kick.
Tamm is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
MicO keeps the fight on the outside.
Tamm defends well against a solid takedown attempt from MicO.

MicO fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tamm shoots in but MicO avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Syco MicO has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raiko Tamm.

Tamm tries to close the distance and clinch but MicO swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tamm is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from MicO is defended easily by Tamm.
Tamm leaves MicO with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Tamm closes the distance and pushes MicO back into the cage.
Tamm wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Tamm is leaning against MicO and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

MicO breaks from the clinch.
A head kick misses from Tamm.
Tamm throws a leg kick but MicO sees it coming and moves out of range.

Tamm fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tamm shoots for a double leg takedown but MicO sprawls well. He's pushed Tamm's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

MicO fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tamm, pushing him back against the cage.
MicO tries to pull guard but Tamm forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
MicO tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tamm just stands there and leans against the cage.

Tamm tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. MicO smiles and moves away.
MicO darts in looking for a takedown but Tamm gets double underhooks and turns MicO into the cage.
Tamm is trying to push MicO away but MicO has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
MicO is trying to drag Tamm to the mat but Tamm just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Tamm has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics MicO uses from the top position.
MicO wants to pass the guard but Tamm is keeping the position.
MicO is fighting to break Tamm's control of his arms but Tamm is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Syco MicO is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
MicO slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

MicO seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Tamm kicks MicO off and gets to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tamm shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and MicO counters by clinching up.
Raiko Tamm has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
MicO is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

And that's the end of the fight!
Raiko Tamm comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think MicO has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
