This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 21 wins and 15 losses; John McCain! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 47 losses; Arm Breaker!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Breaker shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McCain as he avoids it easily.
Breaker fails with a takedown attempt.
McCain feinted with a counter takedown.

McCain darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

McCain prevents Breaker from improving his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCain looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Breaker looking for a kimura from the bottom but McCain passes into side control!

Breaker is looking to regain half guard here but McCain keeps moving and retains side control.
McCain content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

McCain tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McCain has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Breaker is trying to escape the position but McCain is controlling the position.
Breaker is looking for a sweep.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
McCain tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
McCain takes a little break here. Breaker wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Breaker tries to bench press McCain off him but McCain keeps the position.

Breaker is trying to control McCain's posture but McCain avoids it.
Breaker sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from McCain's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

McCain will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Breaker prevents McCain from improving position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCain is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Breaker will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Breaker tries to improve position but can't.

The referee asks McCain politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. McCain prefers to stall for the moment though.

Breaker wants to improve his position, back to half guard but McCain has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Breaker's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Breaker is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for McCain!
