Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rock Chesner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sammy Hagar!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chesner shoots in looking for a takedown. Hagar tries to sprawl out of it but Chesner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hagar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Chesner throws out a leg kick but Hagar moves out of range and Chesner only half commits.
Hagar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hagar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Chesner defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hagar.

Hagar working for a submission but Chesner is keeping him at bay.
Chesner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Chesner flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Hagar working away from the top, dropping strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chesner is trying to stand up.
Chesner swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Chesner wants to hold on but Hagar pushes him away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chesner is trying to escape the mount.
Hagar working the ground and pound effectively.

Hagar is going olschool here, as he tries to force Chesner to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Chesner shrugs it off.
Chesner tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Chesner wants to control but Hagar is having none of it.
Chesner is trying to stand up.
Chesner wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Chesner tries to roll but Hagar sticks to his back.
Hagar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hagar is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Chesner defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Chesner is in bad spot here.

Hagar working for a choke but Chesner is defending well.
Hagar looks gassed!
Chesner wants to escape the position.
Hagar is not going to allow Chesner to sit and survive in this position.
Hagar is trying to stick to Chesner's back but Chesner is turning into Hagar. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hagar's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Chesner.
Chesner trying to control the position from guard on top but Hagar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Chesner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hagar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Chesner working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Hagar is trying to control the position but Chesner postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A big right from Chesner misses.
Chesner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hagar counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Hagar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hagar wants to take a breather but Chesner is having none of it.

Hagar wants to work for an arm triangle but Chesner is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Chesner wants to sweep but Hagar has passed to side control!
Chesner is looking to reverse the position.

Hagar has hold of Chesner's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Chesner tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hagar cranks the arm and Chesner screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Chesner, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Sammy Hagar!
