Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Turner Meeks (ranked 1883 p4p, 979 weight class) and Marcel Romanow (ranked 223 p4p, 112 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcel Romanow!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ben Hemmingworth and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romanow connects with a good right hand that stumbles Meeks. Meeks circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Romanow doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Meeks counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A big right from Meeks misses.
Romanow avoids the body shot from Meeks.
Romanow with the counter takedown but Meeks avoids it easily.
Meeks throws the left hand but Romanow avoids the punch easily.
Romanow throws a lazy uppercut
and Meeks connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Romanow throws a jab when Meeks was well out of range.
It looked like Meeks wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
A lazy left from Romanow finds it's target.
Romanow throws a right hand that misses
and Meeks counters with a nice uppercut.
Meeks lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Marcel Romanow has been cut.
Romanow misses with a straight left.
Romanow takes a body punch but keeps moving.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Meeks takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Romanow works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Jab, jab by Meeks - just one landing.
Meeks throws a body shot but no joy.
Romanow throws a hook but Meeks avoids it easily.
Romanow throws a good cross that connects.
Meeks tests Romanow's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nice straight punches there by Romanow. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Romanow.
Meeks throws a jab but it's blocked by Romanow.
Meeks blocks a jab.
Meeks walks into a left hand.
Meeks slips a straight right by Romanow.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Romanow.
Meeks slips under a jab from Romanow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Romanow sizes up Meeks with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Romanow throws a looping overhand right but Meeks ducks down to avoid it.
Romanow misses with a looping left.

Romanow decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Romanow throwing shots but Meeks is blocking nicely.
Meeks desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Romanow has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Romanow working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Romanow is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Meeks avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Romanow.

Romanow looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Meeks with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Romanow is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Meeks keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Romanow lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Meeks quite badly. Meeks pulls Romanow in close trying to recover. Romanow postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Meeks on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Meeks doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcel Romanow!
Marcel Romanow decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
Turner Meeks spoke after the fight, saying 'I blame the Ivermectin'.
