The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cozad throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hayes counters with a series of strikes. Cozad will be more careful next time no doubt.
Cozad throws a predictable looking body shot
and Hayes counters with a two punch combo.
Cozad lands a glancing blow to the side of Hayes's head.
Cozad misses with a looping right.
Cozad misses with a left hand
and Hayes counters with a single leg into guard. Cozad didn't expect that.
Hayes is standing up over Cozad. Cozad looks to escape but Hayes dives into side control.
Cozad knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hayes on the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hayes decides to stand back up. Hayes steps back and let's Cozad get back to his feet.
Cozad misses with a double jab
and Hayes counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Cozad!
Cozad bucks up and tries to throw Hayes off but instead Hayes has got his back!
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hayes has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Cozad.
Cozad trying to control but not successfully.
Hayes has Cozad flattened out and is raining down punches.
Cozad tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Hayes has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Cozad is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
