Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akira Kaburagi (ranked 1799 p4p, 3346 weight class) and Jambalaya Jones (ranked 222 p4p, 360 weight class). Jambalaya Jones has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Akira Kaburagi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Akira Kaburagi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jambalaya Jones!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kaburagi checks a leg kick.
Kaburagi throws a poor cross that misses
and Jones counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Akira Kaburagi has been cut.
Jones digs a good body shot into Kaburagi's ribs.
Jones scores with the left hand. Kaburagi knows he should have avoided that one.
Kaburagi throws a body punch but Jones moves out of range.
Kaburagi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones.
We've been hearing reports that Kaburagi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Kaburagi shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kaburagi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Kaburagi.
Jones sizes up Kaburagi with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Kaburagi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kaburagi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Jones on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kaburagi is working away from the top position though.
Kaburagi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Jones is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kaburagi scores with a couple of nice shots.
Kaburagi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kaburagi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kaburagi's back!

Kaburagi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kaburagi is stalling in the full guard.

Jones isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kaburagi stacks Jones on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kaburagi!

Kaburagi is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Jones defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Kaburagi looking to break Jones's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Jones remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kaburagi will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Kaburagi lands a shot to the head.
Kaburagi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?
Jones is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Jones is covering up but some of the strikes from Kaburagi are getting through and doing damage.

Jones is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kaburagi gets his way!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kaburagi working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Jones is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Kaburagi has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Jones taps out!

Akira Kaburagi tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
