The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McGrew circles away quickly and effectively.
McGrew shoots in for a double leg but Thompson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Thompson is clearly trying to counter these attacks from McGrew with a body shot.
Thompson looks to land a combination but McGrew avoids it well.

McGrew closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

McGrew goes for a takedown in the clinch but Thompson prevents it.
McGrew drops down looking for an ankle pick but Thompson pulls his leg out and moves away.

McGrew shoots in looking for a takedown. Thompson tries to sprawl out of it but McGrew keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thompson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McGrew tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Thompson manages to circle out of the way.

McGrew shoots in and bounces Thompson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
McGrew wants to get up but he can't break Thompson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Thompson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

McGrew wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Dave Thompson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McGrew changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thompson tries to avoid it but McGrew manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thompson to the ground. Thompson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

McGrew seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Thompson takes a swing at McGrew's ribcage but misses.
It looked like McGrew was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
McGrew swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

McGrew is rocked!
Thompson lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks McGrew out cold! McGrew is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
