The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jcool lands with a nice combination. Padilha backs away looking to recover.
Jcool misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jcool ducks under a wild hook from Padilha.
Abdul Jcool seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Padilha counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Padilha darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

It looks like Abdul Jcool has been cut.
Jcool tries for a takedown but Padilha circles away easily
and Padilha counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jcool looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdul Jcool. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Padilha misses with a straight left.
Jcool tries to counter by clinching up but Padilha breaks away and moves out of range.
Jcool fails with the takedown.
Jcool walks straight into a right hand from Padilha - that's dropped him! Padilha jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Jcool from any more punishment! Jcool complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
