Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chief Walker (ranked 1575 p4p, 1933 weight class) and Ronaldo Gomes (ranked 211 p4p, 260 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes shoots in for a takedown but Walker shows good takedown defense.
Walker lands with an uppercut that bounces Gomes off the cage and back into range.
Walker throws a hook but Gomes avoids it easily.
Walker stuffs the takedown.
Walker misses with a looping left.
Gomes drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Walker defends it well.

Walker closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Chief Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronaldo Gomes.
Gomes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Walker swivels and escapes.
Gomes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walker tries to avoid it but Gomes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walker to the ground. Walker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Walker lands a hook that snaps the head of Gomes backwards.
Gomes is trying to drag Walker to the mat but Walker just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Gomes drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Walker gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Walker swings wildly with an uppercut but Gomes uses good head movement to avoid it.

Walker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Chief Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Walker wants it to stay on the feet.
Walker pounces like a tiger and cracks Gomes with a vicious hook! Gomes is down but not out! Walker follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

A determined Chief Walker didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
