Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thoth Chontamenti (ranked 893 p4p, 624 weight class) and Jimmy Granite (ranked 104 p4p, 78 weight class). Chontamenti's entrance music is Five Finger Death Punch - Wrong Side of Heaven. A fine choice. Granite has chosen Jungle as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thoth Chontamenti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Granite !
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chontamenti tests Granite 's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Chontamenti has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Granite .
Granite takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jab, jab by Chontamenti - just one landing.
A combination from Granite does no damage.
We've been hearing reports that Chontamenti has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Chontamenti keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Chontamenti blocks the body kick.
Chontamenti fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Donk. Chontamenti catches Granite right on the button with a cross.
A jab from Granite misses.
Granite loads up on a big right hand but Chontamenti slips the punch.
Granite shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Granite moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Chontamenti fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Granite has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Chontamenti is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Granite throws the kick towards the body but Chontamenti avoids it.
Chontamenti lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Chontamenti is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Chontamenti lands a nice shot that snaps Granite 's head back.
Chontamenti fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Granite on the side of the head.
Chontamenti lands the left hand.

Granite lands a big head kick that sends Chontamenti tumbling to the mat! Granite takes a step backwards and waves Chontamenti back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Chontamenti is rocked!

It looks like Thoth Chontamenti has been cut.

Chontamenti fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Granite sprawls well initially but Chontamenti persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chontamenti stops Granite from getting back to his feet.
Chontamenti performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Granite can do anything to dispel that myth.
Granite pushes Chontamenti off looking to stand but Chontamenti dives back in and keeps control.

Chontamenti controlling the pace.
Granite wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Chontamenti feints and as Granite raises his hands in defense, Chontamenti changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Chontamenti controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Chontamenti will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Chontamenti seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Granite for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Granite misses with a looping left.
Thoth Chontamenti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chontamenti throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Granite counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Granite . That snapped Chontamenti's head back.

Thoth Chontamenti's cut is getting worse.

Chontamenti looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chontamenti avoids the head kick by Granite .
Nice takedown defense from Granite . No joy for Chontamenti on that attempt.
Chontamenti tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Granite swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thoth Chontamenti. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Granite throws out a loose jab but Chontamenti uses good head movement to avoid it.
Granite looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Chontamenti shoots in for a takedown but Granite shows good takedown defense.
It seemed like Granite was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Granite moves out of range of the strikes.
Chontamenti dips to his left and cracks Granite with an uppercut!
Granite blocks a low kick nicely.
Granite flicks out a counter leg kick but Chontamenti steps away.
Granite tries a head kick but it misses.
Granite fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chontamenti manages to avoid it.
Chontamenti changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Granite tries to avoid it but Chontamenti manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Granite to the ground. Granite escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Granite jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Chontamenti throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Granite tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chontamenti is in Granite 's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Thoth Chontamenti will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Granite throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chontamenti sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Chontamenti swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Chontamenti throws a quick inside leg kick.
Chontamenti throws a lazy right hand but Granite sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Granite throws a jab when Chontamenti was well out of range.
Granite steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chontamenti.
Chontamenti misses with a low kick.
Chontamenti shoots in looking for a takedown. Granite tries to sprawl out of it but Chontamenti keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Granite manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Granite connects with a body shot that sends Chontamenti's belly button to the back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Granite thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Chontamenti if he has to take too many more of those.
Granite with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Granite tries to work over Chontamenti's front leg with a kick but Chontamenti checks it.

Granite feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Chontamenti sprawling to the canvas! Chontamenti rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Granite finish him?!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chontamenti on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Granite . Granite obviously looking to wear him down.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Chontamenti misses with a hook to the body

and Granite counters with a crisp right hand that drops Chontamenti! Granite lets Chontamenti back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Thoth Chontamenti's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Chontamenti throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Granite now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Granite scoring well with a low kick there.
Chontamenti looks up at the clock. Bad move! Granite lands a right hand from hell, dropping Chontamenti. Granite pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Granite !
Our winner, Jimmy Granite , made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
