Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blade Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kim Kitsuragi !
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilson moves into the clinch successfully.
Kitsuragi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wilson smiles and moves away.
Kitsuragi looks to clinch
and Wilson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kitsuragi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Wilson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kitsuragi .
Wilson looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Kitsuragi tries to work over Wilson's front leg with a kick but Wilson checks it.
Wilson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kitsuragi throws out the jab.
Wilson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Kitsuragi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

I was talking to Wilson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Kitsuragi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Kitsuragi bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Wilson's head backwards.

Wilson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kitsuragi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wilson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
