Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Bird (ranked 5077 p4p, 4891 weight class) and Zurab Nozadzi (ranked 237 p4p, 222 weight class). Bird comes to the cage accompanied by Dragula - Rob Zombie. Nozadzi has chosen Polo Palace - KayaKata as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tim Bird!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Zurab Nozadzi!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird scores with a leg kick.
Zurab Nozadzi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nozadzi throws a front kick aimed at Bird's knee but Bird avoids it well.
Nozadzi motions for Bird to come forward. Nozadzi throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bird is looking to slow Nozadzi down with leg kicks.
Bird tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Nozadzi is able to avoid easily.

Bird closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nozadzi to the mat! Nozadzi manages to get full guard.
Nozadzi will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Bird sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nozadzi's guard.
Bird wants to take a breather but Nozadzi is having none of it.
Nozadzi is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bird is trying to control. Nozadzi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Bird is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Nozadzi!
Nozadzi is looking to get to half guard.
Nozadzi bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nozadzi wants to control from the top but Bird keeps moving.

Bird is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nozadzi defends well.

Nozadzi wants to control from the top but Bird keeps moving.
Nozadzi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bird's head.

Tim Bird is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Bird blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nozadzi.

Nozadzi is working for a kimura but Bird is defending it quite comfortably.
Bird wants to control but Nozadzi is keeping busy.
Bird looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Nozadzi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Bird is pressing down on Nozadzi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Bird is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nozadzi wants to pass the guard but Bird is keeping the position.
Bird tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Nozadzi postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bird seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tim Bird.
Well Bird has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
