Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Jason Mendoza (ranked 1875 p4p, 1280 weight class) and Liam Higgins (ranked 69 p4p, 74 weight class). Liam Higgins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Mendoza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Liam Higgins!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higgins loads up on a big right hand but Mendoza slips the punch.
Mendoza cracks Higgins with an open hand slap.

It looks like Liam Higgins has been cut.
Higgins tries a head kick but it misses.
Mendoza tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Higgins looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
A thudding body kick lands there by Mendoza!
Mendoza is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Mendoza bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Higgins's head backwards.
Good leg kick by Higgins.

Mendoza darts in and clinches Higgins up against the ropes.

Higgins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mendoza misses with a hook.
Higgins circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mendoza darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Mendoza slips under a jab from Higgins.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Higgins takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Mendoza really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mendoza stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Mendoza scores with a punch to the head.
Higgins throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mendoza thinks about countering with a body kick.
Mendoza tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Higgins looks to land a left hand but Mendoza moved out of range nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mendoza looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mendoza is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Higgins bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mendoza connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Higgins connects with a single shot there.
Higgins tries a low kick but Mendoza avoids it.
Higgins misses with a hook.
Higgins looks to land a left hand but Mendoza moved out of range nicely.
Mendoza thinks about countering with a body kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mendoza looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've been told by Mendoza's head coaches at Hey Steves Fight Shack that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Higgins throws a big shot that misses.
Higgins pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mendoza tries to land a front kick but Higgins steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Higgins is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Mendoza wants to clinch up but Higgins keeps it at a distance.
Higgins throws a looping overhand right but Mendoza ducks down to avoid it.
Mendoza explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Mendoza.
Mendoza throws a body kick that misses.
Higgins throws a body shot but no joy.
Higgins throws a head kick but Mendoza moves out of range.
Higgins misses the jab.
Mendoza is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Mendoza wants to clinch up but Higgins keeps it at a distance.
Higgins has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mendoza finds it's way round the side to connect with Higgins's head.

Mendoza moves into the clinch successfully.
Mendoza misses with a punch on the inside.
Mendoza tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Higgins avoids it.
Knees in the clinch landing for Mendoza.
Higgins looks winded!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mendoza stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Mendoza misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Higgins.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Mendoza dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Liam Higgins's cut.
That's time! Mendoza's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Mendoza fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Higgins on the side of the head.
Mendoza scores with the left hand. Higgins knows he should have avoided that one.

Mendoza scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Higgins beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.
Mendoza throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Higgins stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mendoza cracks Higgins with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Higgins is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Higgins is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Higgins could not beat the count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Jason Mendoza!
After winning the bout, Jason Mendoza thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
