PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Support Me (ranked 25257 p4p, 5643 weight class) and Sandy Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sandy Storm will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Support Me!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sandy Storm!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Me as Storm shoots in.
Me attempts a counter takedown but Storm avoids it well and moves away.
Me avoids the head kick by Storm.
Storm shoots in and drives through. Me sprawls well.
Storm is looking to clinch.
Me is trying hard to land a takedown here. Storm sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Me throws a head kick but Storm moves out of range.
Storm leaves Me with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Storm shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Me as he avoids it easily.
Support Me has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sandy Storm.
Me misses with a two punch combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Storm looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Storm shoots for a double leg takedown but Me sprawls well. He's pushed Storm's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Me shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Me looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Storm really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Me. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Me wants to pass to mount but Storm is defending the position.
Me takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Me is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Storm defends it well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Me in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Storm wants to control but Me is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Me controlling the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Me scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Storm is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Me scores with a couple of nice shots.
Storm wants to get back to full guard.
Me controlling the action here.
Storm looks winded!
Me throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Storm trying to hold on to Me's head to control him but Me postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Me pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Me darts in looking for a takedown but Storm gets double underhooks and turns Me into the cage.
Me jumps guard but Storm turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Me is struggling to control the position.
Storm is trying to break the clinch but Me has him pressed against the cage.
Storm lands a nice uppercut.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Me tries to break the clinch but Storm is controlling the position.
Storm prevents Me from breaking the clinch.
Storm slowing the pace effectively.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Support Me dominated that round.
That's time! Me's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Storm will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Me keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Me stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Me wants it to stay on the feet.
Support Me has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sandy Storm.
Storm tries to close the distance and clinch but Me swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Storm tries to keep at a distance but Me has taken the fight into the clinch.
Me wants to break free but Storm has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Me tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Me is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Storm can do to turn this around?

Storm tries to pull guard but Me forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Storm is breathing heavily.

Me avoids the elbow strike from Storm, against the cage.
Me can't break the clinch.
Storm goes for a takedown in the clinch but Me prevents it.
Storm lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Me backwards.
Me wants to get back to striking at distance but Storm won't allow it.
Me fails to pull guard.
Me is trying to break the clinch but Storm is controlling him.
Me content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Me is stalling here.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Me for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Me has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Storm avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Storm has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Me wants a takedown.
Me is trying to break free.
Me gets underhooks to prevent Storm's takedown attempt.
Me fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Storm missing with knees to the body.
Me is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Storm is keeping busy.

Me is trying to trip Storm. He has hold of a leg but Storm is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Me persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Me stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Storm swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Me wants to control from the top but Storm keeps moving.
Me throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Storm looking to control.
Me wants to stand but Storm is controlling his posture from full guard.
Storm is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Storm wants to hit a sweep here but Me passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Storm there!
Me will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Storm throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Me controlling from mount.

Me working for a guillotine from mount but Storm is in no mood to give up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Storm taking shots to the head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Support Me dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Storm moves in looking to clinch but Me pushes him off.
Storm dives in and grabs Me's left leg, looking for a takedown. Me pushes down on Storm's head and hops out.
Storm avoids the head kick by Me.
Storm is looking to clinch but Me is avoiding it.
Me misses with a kick to the body.
Storm looks for a takedown but Me sprawls well.
Me really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Me misses with a combination
and Storm counters with a right hand to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Me looks to land a combination but Storm avoids it well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Storm fails with an attempt to clinch.
Storm shoots in but no luck this time.
Support Me has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sandy Storm.

Storm fails with the takedown.
Me is looking to counter the offense by Storm and move into the clinch.
Me misses with a few strikes there.

Me gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Storm misses with a punch to the body.
Me is trying to break free.
Me is looking for a takedown.
A frustrated look appears on Storm's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Me drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Storm gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Storm has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Storm pulls guard successfully.
Me seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Me pushing down on Storm's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Me not doing much here.

Me takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Me scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Me missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Me uses his free foot to push down on Storm's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Storm.
Support Me overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Me working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Me controlling his opponent.

Storm really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Storm in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Me looking to isolate an arm here. Storm doesn't see it coming and as Me extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Me!
