PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Orla Wanker (ranked 1886 p4p, 2424 weight class) and Vern Schullacks (ranked 227 p4p, 290 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Orla Wanker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vern Schullacks!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wanker uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Schullacks.

Schullacks gets the takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Schullacks throws a strike aimed at the side of Wanker's head but Wanker avoids it well.
Wanker is looking to reverse the position.
Wanker manages to work his way to half guard, despite Schullacks's best efforts.
Schullacks is looking to advance position but Wanker won't allow it.
Wanker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Schullacks is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wanker is just riding it out for now. Schullacks eventually gives up the hold.
Wanker is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Schullacks's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Schullacks's back!

Wanker working for a choke but Schullacks is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wanker doesn't have the hooks in and Schullacks manages to turn into his guard.

Wanker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Schullacks is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Schullacks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wanker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wanker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Schullacks is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wanker pulls Schullacks in close to prevent any damage.
Schullacks controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Schullacks tries to free his leg and advance position but Wanker is retaining full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wanker is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Schullacks trying to control the position from guard on top but Wanker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wanker looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Schullacks with a flurry of punches that miss.

Wanker has his feet on Schullacks's thighs here. He's pushed Schullacks off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Schullacks screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
