Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kass Drago (ranked 24346 p4p, 23326 weight class) and Lance Walker (ranked 614 p4p, 588 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kass Drago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lance Walker!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drago throws a right and a left that Walker avoids nicely.
Drago defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Walker.
Kass Drago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drago takes a swing at Walker's ribcage but misses.
Walker tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Drago defends well and Walker ends up having to push Drago into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Walker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Drago's waist but Drago gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walker off to one side.
Kass Drago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lance Walker.
Drago misses with a series of wild punches.
Nice sprawl there from Drago as Walker shoots in.
Drago throws a body punch but Walker moves out of range.
No luck for Walker with that takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Drago. Walker does a little dance to reset his feet.
Drago tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Walker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Walker closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Drago's guard.
Drago is breathing heavily.
Walker is stalling in the full guard.
Drago on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Drago tries to get out of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walker's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
More stalling from Walker.
Walker slips nicely into half guard.
Walker content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Walker with more of the same as he continues to hold on.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Walker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Drago is fending him off so far but Walker persists. Nope, Drago circles away and we're back to standing.
Walker shoots in for a takedown but Drago shows good takedown defense.
Walker has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drago misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Walker.
Walker raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
We've been told by Drago's head coaches at New York Public Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Walker drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Walker might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Walker in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Drago is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lance Walker!
