Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Batang Kock (ranked 1315 p4p, 656 weight class) and Koos Van Asch (ranked 92 p4p, 45 weight class). Kock comes to the cage accompanied by I will axe kick you, and I am not careful.. Koos Van Asch has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Batang Kock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Koos Van Asch!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kock throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Kock just misses with a punch to the body.
Kock looks to land a left hand but Van Asch moved out of range nicely.
A nice side step and Van Asch releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Van Asch has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Kock lands a body shot.
Van Asch ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kock moves away.
A nice leg kick from Kock, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kock has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kock smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kock looks to land a body kick but Van Asch moved away.
No luck for Kock with that takedown attempt.

and Kock cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Van Asch throws a solid leg kick but Kock takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Van Asch.
Kock was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Van Asch scores with a jab. Kock acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Kock shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Van Asch but Van Asch pushes him off and we're back to square one.

It looked like Kock wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kock checks a leg kick.

and Van Asch makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kock really felt that one!

Koos Van Asch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kock throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Kock misses with a double jab.
As Kock backs off Van Asch throws a huge counter combo but Kock manages to avoid it all.
Kock feints and then cracks Van Asch's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Van Asch down.

and Kock takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Van Asch moves out of range as Kock throws a body kick.

Van Asch takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Van Asch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kock is looking for a counter combo.

Kock will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kock feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Van Aschs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Van Asch bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Van Asch! But no joy.
Kock fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Van Asch looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kock fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Van Asch on the side of the head.
Kock is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Van Asch can do to turn this around?

Kock cracks Van Asch with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Kock bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Van Asch's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kock fires out a quick counter leg kick but Van Asch just manages to avoid it.
Van Asch throws a looping overhand right but Kock ducks down to avoid it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Batang Kock will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kock closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kock is looking to take a break and control but Van Asch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kock is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Van Asch is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Van Asch wants to control but Kock postures up.
The strikes coming from Kock are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Van Asch is trying to control Kock's posture but Kock avoids it.
Van Asch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Kock lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Van Asch down.

Kock swings around for an armbar but Van Asch sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kock's guard.

Kock had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Van Asch defends it easily.

Van Asch avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kock looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Van Asch puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Van Asch wants to free his trapped foot but Kock is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Van Asch keeps trying to improve his position.
Kock tries to get to full guard but Van Asch has control of the leg.
Koos Van Asch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Van Asch is trying to control. Kock wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kock works his way to full guard. Good work.

Kock can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Van Asch controls the pace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Batang Kock showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kock has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
