Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Parta Matti (ranked 329 p4p, 359 weight class) and Ben Slam (ranked 43 p4p, 49 weight class). Matti kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Language (Hula Cam) - Porter Robinson. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Matti.
Slam cracks a nice hook into Matti's ribs.
Matti ducks under a wild hook from Slam.
We've been informed that Slam has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Slam throws the left hand but Matti avoids the punch easily.
Matti swings for the body but Slam moves out of range.
Slam throws an off balance right hand
and Matti counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Ben Slam has been cut.
Slam takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Slam has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
A head kick misses from Slam.
Matti wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Slam connects with a good right hand that stumbles Matti. Matti circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Slam swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Slam looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Slam lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Parta Matti has been cut.
Slam misses with a hook.
It looked like Matti was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Slam.

A head kick by Slam misses
and Matti cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Slam throws a lazy head kick
and Matti counters with a leg kick.
Matti slips a jab from Slam.
A little feinted left hand from Matti on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Matti wants to clinch.
Nice body kick there by Matti.

Matti has closed the distance and engaged Slam in a clinch.
Matti lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Slam wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Matti has him pressed against the cage.

Slam breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Slam cracks Matti with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slam misses with a jab to the body

and Matti counters with a nice right hand that sends Slam toppling to the canvas! Slam scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Matti finish him?!

That has opened up Ben Slam's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Slam misses with a right hand

and Matti counters with a crisp right hand that drops Slam! Matti lets Slam back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Slam is rocked!
Slam misses with a looping left.
Slam throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Matti's head.
Matti bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Slam tries a head kick but it misses.
Matti was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Matti tries to close the distance and clinch but Slam swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Matti blocks a jab.
Slam throws a big shot that misses.
Matti scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Matti thuds a left hand into Slam's body.
Both fighters circling a little - Matti finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Slam looks winded!
Matti jabs Slam to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Matti bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Matti clinches up with Slam and pushes him back against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Matti.

The cut above Ben Slam's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Slam takes a shot to the head.
Slam working hard to break the clinch.
Slam tries to break free but Matti pushes him back against the cage.
Matti lands with a light punch inside.
A head punch on the inside from Matti fails to land.
Slam blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Slam blocks an uppercut.

Slam escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Slam swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Matti makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Slam really felt that one!

Matti cracks Slam with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Matti has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Slam to stand back up!

Ben Slam's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ben Slam's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Parta Matti!
Parta Matti bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
