Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Knox (ranked 1474 p4p, 1377 weight class) and Francesco Monroe (ranked 223 p4p, 203 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Francesco Monroe!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe misses with a looping right.
Knox throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Monroe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Monroe looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Knox throws a body shot but no joy.
A decent looking cross lands there for Monroe.
Knox misses the jab.
Knox throws a hook to the side of Monroe's head but Monroe sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Knox moves out of range as Monroe strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knox connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Francesco Monroe has been cut.

Knox drops Monroe with a beautiful combination! Monroe stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Knox is looking for the KO!

Monroe seems to have recovered his senses.
Knox tries to move into range but Monroe moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Monroe clobbers Knox with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Monroe cracks Knox with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Knox misses with a right hand
and Monroe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Monroe might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Knox throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Monroe.
Monroe looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Monroe throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Knox takes a swing at Monroe's ribcage but misses.
It seemed like Monroe was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Oooooh!!! Monroe has knocked Knox down with a huge combo! Monroe steps away and waves a wobbly Knox back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Monroe fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Knox out cold! Brutal finish!
