Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Roy (ranked 34 p4p, 88 weight class) and Kurt Cobain (ranked 4 p4p, 14 weight class). Cobain has chosen Smells Like Teen Spirit as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rob Roy!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kurt Cobain!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Roy throws the kick towards the body but Cobain avoids it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Cobain throws a leg kick that is checked
and Roy counters with a straight right hand.
Roy throws a predictable looking body shot
and Cobain connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Roy throws a nice inside leg kick.
Roy misses with a right hand
and Cobain counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cobain manages to avoid it.
Cobain is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Roy with a body shot.
Roy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cobain throws out a counter right but Roy avoids it with no problem.

A bone on bone clash there as Cobain blocks the leg kick.
Cobain has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Roy.

and Roy makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Cobain throws a left and a right that both miss
and Roy counters with a thumping low kick.

Roy looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Roy turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Roy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Roy throws a big shot that misses.
Cobain connects with a crisp jab.
Roy looks to throw a body kick
and Cobain counters with a right hand to the body.

Roy ducks under a wild hook from Cobain.
Roy tried to counter with a leg kick but Cobain avoided it.
Cobain scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Rob Roy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cobain. That did some damage!

and Roy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cobain thinking.

and Cobain counters with a straight right hand.
Roy lands a nice shot to the body.
Roy throws an overhand right that lands on Cobain's shoulder, as Cobain tries to avoid the shot.
A countering left hand to the body from Cobain misses.
Cobain fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Roy.
Roy tries to move into range but Cobain moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Roy lands with a shot to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Cobain displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Roy throws out the jab.
Despite the aggression on Cobain's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Roy is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Cobain's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Roy takes a swing at Cobain's ribcage but misses.
Cobain looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Roy throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Nice jab there from Roy.

and Cobain counters with a nice leg kick.
Roy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cobain moves away.
Cobain follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Cobain tests Roy's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Roy looks to throw the jab but Cobain is out of range.
Cobain doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Roy throws a leg kick that is checked
and Cobain counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rob Roy is winning the standup battle so far.
Roy just misses with a punch to the body.
Roy swings away with a body shot that misses

and Cobain counters with a nice right hand that sends Roy toppling to the canvas! Roy scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Cobain finish him?!

Roy is rocked!
Cobain has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cobain throws a body punch but Roy moves out of range.
Roy throws a head kick that misses
and Cobain counters with a stiff right hand.
Oh Roy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Roy throws a body shot but no joy.
Cobain unleashes a big counter combination but Roy bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Roy seems to have got his legs back now.
Cobain takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Roy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Roy fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cobain has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Roy fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Cobain defending well as Roy loads up on a big left hand.

Cobain tries to land a leg kick but Roy saw it coming and moves away.

Roy ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Cobain walks into a straight right hand from Roy.

Cobain jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A good leg kick by Roy.
Roy slips a jab from Cobain.
A quick step to the side and Roy tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
A low kick lands for Roy.
Roy misses with a right hand
and Roy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rob Roy will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Roy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Cobain now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Kurt Cobain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Roy lands with a right hand.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Roy.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Cobain might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Roy has got the better of the exchanges.

Cobain avoids a kick to the body.
Cobain looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Cobain's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Cobain gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Roy gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Cobain is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rob Roy!

An intense looking Rob Roy took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Tosen- brave heart respect'.
