PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vlastimil Vyr (ranked 1477 p4p, 1761 weight class) and Hero Primo (ranked 80 p4p, 95 weight class). Hero Primo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vlastimil Vyr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Hero Primo!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Ben Watson and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Primo drops Vyr with a left right combo! Primo follows him down to the ground into side control.

Vyr is rocked!

It looks like Vlastimil Vyr has been cut.
Vyr is pushing Primo's head away, looking to escape. Primo manages to hold on to the position though.
Oh Vyr is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vyr tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vyr defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Primo's arms.
Vyr is trying to get back to his feet but Primo has full control of the position and if anything, Vyr has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Vyr seems to have got his legs back now.

Primo is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Vyr has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vyr is trying to get back to his feet but Primo has full control of the position and if anything, Vyr has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Vyr trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Vyr is having to fend off submission attempts from Primo, who is looking to sink in the choke. Primo doesn't have the hooks in though and Vyr manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Vyr missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Primo is trying to keep Vyr in close.
Vyr is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Brloh that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Primo pulls Vyr in close to his closed guard and prevents Vyr from doing any damage or advancing position.
Vyr throwing strikes from guard but Primo blocks nicely.

Vyr wants to control from the top but Primo keeps moving.

Primo looking for a triangle here. Vyr is fighting it but it looks tight! Primo pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Vyr is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Hero Primo!
A relieved looking Hero Primo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
