PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ashton Ladd (ranked 1616 p4p, 1059 weight class) and Tommy Fury (ranked 220 p4p, 151 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ashton Ladd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tommy Fury!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fury tries to clinch but Ladd is having none of it.
Fury tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ladd paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ladd takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Fury loads up on a big right hand but Ladd slips the punch.

Fury moves into range and clinches up with Ladd.

Fury pulls guard.

Fury working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ladd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ladd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ladd controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ladd drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fury manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ladd has Fury in his guard.

Ladd isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Fury stacks Ladd on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Fury!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fury is looking to take a break and control but Ladd is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Fury wants to control but Ladd is keeping him busy.
Fury in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ladd is trying to improve his position.
Ladd is letting Fury control him for a moment.
Ladd is looking for a sweep.
Fury content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Fury's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Fury wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ladd keeps working.
Ladd definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Ladd is letting Fury control him for a moment.
Ladd tries to bench press Fury off him but Fury keeps the position.
Ladd is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Fury off and has taken his back!
Fury trying to control the position but Ladd manages to sink in the hooks.

Ladd is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Fury has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Ladd has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Fury taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Ladd doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ashton Ladd!
