Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Willie Dixon (ranked 617 p4p, 895 weight class) and Buzz Bullard (ranked 48 p4p, 66 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Willie Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Buzz Bullard!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bullard dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Dixon on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Bullard connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Dixon throws a jab but it's blocked by Bullard.
A nice side step and Bullard releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Bullard scores with a jab to the body.
Dixon takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Dixon closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Dixon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Bullard is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bullard prevents Dixon from taking his back.
Bullard sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dixon in particular looking to stall.
Dixon is trying to control the action in half guard but Bullard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dixon seems to be looking for submissions.

Dixon passes into half guard.
Bullard moves into full guard.
Bullard tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bullard keeping moving, preventing Dixon from controlling successfully.
Dixon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bullard has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Dixon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bullard for as long as he can get away with.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Buzz Bullard dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bullard changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Dixon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dixon lands in his opponent's guard.

Dixon wants to pass the guard but Bullard is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dixon won't allow Bullard to sweep him here.

Dixon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dixon is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Bullard has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Dixon is looking to defend but Bullard has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Dixon! Bullard pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Dixon taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Buzz Bullard!
