Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kittisak Saetang (ranked 2772 p4p, 1582 weight class) and Cody Evans (ranked 226 p4p, 137 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kittisak Saetang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Evans!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Saetang, as that shot connected.
Evans slips under a jab from Saetang.
Saetang tries to land a front kick but Evans steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Evans misses with a double jab.
Saetang throws a right hand that misses

and Evans counters with a single leg into guard. Saetang didn't expect that.

Saetang looking for subs off his back but Evans has passed one foot through into half guard.
Evans thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Saetang is trying to stand.
Saetang is trying to control but can't.
Saetang is looking to escape.
Saetang tries to roll over but Evans keeps him under control.

Evans stalling away here and it's allowed Saetang to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Saetang throws a combination. Evans tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Kittisak Saetang is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Saetang pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No joy there for Saetang, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Evans scores with a hook to the body. Saetang takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Saetang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Evans takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Saetang lands a nice looking body kick.
A jab from Evans misses.
Evans throws a hook but Saetang blocks it.
Evans connects with a right hand. Saetang shakes it off.
Saetang slips a straight right by Evans.
Kittisak Saetang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Evans decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Evans slows the pace down in half guard.
Evans landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Evans slips a nice elbow through Saetang's hands, connecting with Saetang's forehead.

Evans postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Saetang lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Evans moves out of range as Saetang throws a body kick.
Saetang takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Evans avoids the head kick by Saetang.
Saetang looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Evans connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Saetang throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Evans on the side of the head.
Saetang moves into range and connects with a jab.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kittisak Saetang will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Evans blocks the body kick.
Saetang takes one to the side of the head.
Saetang lets loose with a powerful body kick. Evans will feel that in the morning.
Saetang throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Evans misses with a looping left.

Evans shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Saetang napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Evans tries to score with some ground and pound. Saetang controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Evans postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Saetang pushes Evans away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Evans gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Saetang tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Saetang's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Cody Evans has got the better of the ground game so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Saetang wants to control but Evans is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans scoring with strikes but Saetang is staying in there.
The referee warns Saetang that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Saetang is desperately trying to improve his position but Evans has a good base and remains in mount.

Saetang tries to buck Evans off but he can't manage it.
Saetang wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Evans.
Evans pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Saetang regains half guard.
Saetang is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Evans's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Evans's back!

Evans tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Cody Evans showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Saetang's jab looks to have found its range, popping Evans under the eye.
Saetang thuds his shin into the meat of Evans's side.
Saetang slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Saetang throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Saetang lands a right hook to the body.
Evans lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Evans.

Evans dodges the punch combination from Saetang.
Evans shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Saetang enables Evans to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Saetang manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Saetang trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Evans working his ground and pound in the gym.

Saetang is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Evans is aware though and is defending well.
Evans wants to control from the top but Saetang keeps moving.

Evans loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Evans blocks a head kick by Saetang.
Evans changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Saetang tries to bum rush Evans with a series of wild strikes but Evans uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kittisak Saetang.
I think Saetang has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
